Types of Assessments
Please choose from our list of assessments below. If you are unsure about which assessment you think your child may need, please contact us and we can discuss which assessment may be most suitable.

Multidisciplinary Autism Assessment (ASD)
This comprehensive evaluation determines whether an individual meets the criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). An assessment involves multiple steps, including detailed interviews with the individual, family members and teachers. It also includes standardised behavioural observations, rating scales, and often direct testing to examine various areas such as communication, social interaction, repetitive behaviours, and sensory sensitivities. A multidisciplinary team, which may include psychologists, speech therapists, and other specialists, often conducts the assessment to gain a well-rounded view of the individual’s strengths and challenges. The results provide a basis for diagnostic conclusions, support planning, and recommendations for interventions tailored to the individual’s unique needs.

Psycho-Educational Assessment
This assessment is used to identify learning strengths and challenges, assess intellectual abilities, and explore emotional and behavioural factors that may impact upon a child’s educational experience. This assessment is ideal for those concerned with the presence of a specific learning difficulty, such as dyslexia/dyscalculia.

Cognitive Assessment
A cognitive assessment is an evaluation to look at various mental processes, such as memory, attention, and problem-solving. Through standardised tests and observations, it identifies strengths and weaknesses in a child’s cognitive functioning ability. This assessment is ideal for identifying children who may be gifted.

Educational Assessment
This assessment evaluates specific skills such as reading, math, & problem-solving. Typically, these assessments serve to update/compliment previous psycho-educational assessments that a student may have undertaken, or are required for applications for reasonable accommodations/exemptions.

Cognitive & Developmental Assessment
This assessment is a thorough evaluation to understand a child’s intellectual abilities and overall developmental progress. This assessment is ideal for those concerned with the presence of a more general learning difficulty (MGLD), as well as their child's adaptive functioning capabilities.
