Meet Our Clinical Director: Dr. Ian Kearney

(C. Psychol., Ps.S.I)

Dr. Kearney’s passion for understanding and addressing the unique needs of children with specific learning difficulties led to the establishment of The Atlas Clinic.

Following a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (H.Dip) and a Master’s in Applied Psychology (MAAP), Ian earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.Clin. Psych) from University College Cork.

With specific interests in neurodiversity and extensive experience in working with children facing neurodevelopmental challenges, Ian is driven to ensure that every child receives the care and support they deserve.

The Atlas Clinic

Our Mission and Philosophy:

The philosophy underpinning The Atlas Clinic is inspired by the resilience embodied by the Greek Titan Atlas, who was forced to endure the weight of the heavens. Similarly, we believe in shouldering the challenges faced by children with specific learning difficulties. Through our personalised and holistic approach, we aim to provide unwavering support, helping each child navigate and overcome their unique obstacles.

In the spirit of Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold lacquer, we too see the beauty in apparent ‘imperfection’. At The Atlas Clinic, we recognise that each child’s journey may have its unique challenges, but it is through embracing these differences that we can create something truly extraordinary. We believe in the inherent strength and potential within each child, and our assessments aim to illuminate the pathways to resilience and growth
